Der Dandy mit Melone versteckt unter dieser den Kopf der Band Whomadewho und nennt sich solo Bon Homme – sein ernster Blick täuscht, die selbstetikettierte Schmeichelei können wir bestätigen. Wer daran zweifelt, war sicher nicht auf dem diesjährigen Berlin Festival, wo Tomas Høffding mit seinem Soloprojekt alleine auf (!) seinem DJ-Pult den Hangar 4 rockte und das nur mit Laptop, Synthies und seiner einzigartigen Falsettstimme. Und war sicher auch nicht auf unserer Party in der Bar Tausend. Und lese deshalb dies hier:
What do you do?
I am writing loooong e-mails with my band, Whomadewho. Having a band is like a marriage, sometimes it’s great, sometimes it’s really hard work. Solo artist = easy:)
Where are you from?
Roskilde. If you have been to the legendary Roskilde Festival, you will know the temporary Scaffold Bridge over the railroad with a house underneath it. That’s where I lived in my teenage years. Free tickets to Roskilde every year since I was 13, wo hoo!
Where do you go?
I am going to my studio to rehearse my live show.
Where do you like to be most?
In my studio or in my Swedish farmer’s house. Sometime all this urban living… clubs, airports, trendy clubs can get too much, and I flee to this old red wooden house in the middle of the woods, put on some ugly clothes and I walk the woods and repair the house and feel like a true lumberjack. Trying hard not to think about music.
What do you believe in?
We are nihilists, we believe in nothing.
What do you NOT believe in (any more)?
Mixing albums on a mixing desk. I think we are right now getting to the point where the software algorithms are getting as good as the analouge stuff. Or maybe it didn’t, and I’m just too dumb to make good mixes on a desk.
What do you love?
60s / 70s hippie songs.
What do you hate?
Nickelback.
What are you reading/listening to right now?
The ringing in my ears, the sound of my hungry belly.
